Vision Sports Academy CIC (VSA) are a Birmingham based sports coaching social enterprise and community interest company which tackle social issues and reinvest resources back into communities most in need.
VSA collaborate with Primary & Secondary Schools delivering Physical Education (PE) Lessons and Breakfast/Lunchtime/Afterschool Club Activities supporting pupils across all age groups. We look to increase overall participation & social interaction of young people in sport through Community Project Workshops and Sports Coaching Centres which operate weekly and through all school holidays. Finally, we upskill passionate young people to become 'sports coaches of tomorrow' and nurture future coaching talent.
Our aim is to help children become more active and healthier, improving their overall understanding of nutritional values and healthy lifestyles. We envision children taking their knowledge home to share with parents and promote healthy eating amongst families and the wider community. We also want to improve sporting technique, skill, fitness as well as encouraging team values and social etiquette in young people, achieved through our regular team and specialist 1-2-1 sessions. In addition, it is of major importance that we provide young people with the opportunity to have greater accessibility to a wider range of sports
VSA aim to create a healthy UK nation, therefore decreasing obesity prevalence in young people primarily but also looking to promote healthy lifestyles within adults. Lowering the NHS bill and the burden on the taxpayer is key and we believe improving nutritional awareness will support this.
We want to lower unemployment levels (predominantly the 16-24 year old age bracket), increase the skill set of young people by developing them as 'coaches of the future' through a combination of accredited national governing body (NGB) training and on-the-job experience. VSA feel that upskilling and offering a more rounded work experience for individuals will provide the best environment for them to flourish.
Finally, we wish to tackle the ever deteriorating poverty level, not only in Birmingham but in the UK as a whole. Levels of poverty in Birmingham are higher than nearly every other UK city, our services provide schools, parents and communities with an extremely high class technical and social offering. We create a hub for developing healthy lifestyles and most importantly, this is all offered at very affordable rates.
