Overview
At Yarlet we strive to create and maintain an environment in which all children are happy, secure and challenged to achieve their personal best in all areas of school life.
Children attend Yarlet between the ages of 2 and 13, when they leave as confident, responsible young adults who have learned the importance of excellent behaviour, good manners and respect for others.
We place great emphasis on an all-round education which allows children to discover and develop their individual talents be they academic, sporting, artistic or musical. The wonderful grounds, 33 acres of them, give Yarlet children space to breathe, explore and discover. They are also home to the games fields, astro-turf pitch, sports hall and swimming pool, which are used and enjoyed by all the children.
A family atmosphere prevails at Yarlet, the heart of which is a positive, nurturing relationship between pupils and staff; teachers know their pupils exceptionally well and have high expectations across the board. Our open door policy ensures that parents also have an opportunity to be fully involved and their input is greatly valued.
When the time comes to move on from Yarlet, pupils are prepared for entry into a wide range of schools including Repton, Shrewsbury, Tettenhall, Denstone, Harrow, Rugby, Alleyne's Academy, Cheltenham Ladies' College, St Dominic's Priory School, Wycombe Abbey, Adams' Grammar, Moreton Hall, Newcastle-under-Lyme School and Stafford Grammar. The destinations are boundless, but we ensure that the next school is right for your child.
Finally, choosing the right preparatory school for your child is a difficult and major decision and this website can only give a hint of what Yarlet has to offer. For a much fuller picture, do come and see the school in action, get a feel for the place, talk to the staff and meet the people who matter most, the children. It would be a pleasure to show you around personally.
