Stoke College is about to embark on an extraordinary journey. A journey which involves a significant commitment to the future of all the children at our wonderful school.
Investment in buildings and technology are key to this plan. Over the next few years, Stoke College will change substantially as new classrooms and boarding facilities are developed. We are already introducing state-of-the-art connectivity, and the success of Stoke College Online (the school’s virtual learning provision during COVID-19) is part of the expanding role which virtual classrooms, online archives and interactive textbooks will have.
But we must remember that whilst technology can be transformational, it is the not the purpose, but the tool. Underpinning our new philosophy is a teaching and learning strategy which is both progressive and reflective: we understand young people think and learn differently, and we prioritise the personal touch, whilst recognising that the future world will be radically different from our own.
Affordability is the key to this. Without our Suffolk heritage and a strong partnership with local parents, our international plans cannot bear fruit. For this reason we have put in place a fee structure which makes Stoke College the most competitively priced school in the region.
Through a wide range of shared activities, both inside and outside the classroom, we want to develop communication skills and nurture empathy between young people of all colours, creeds and backgrounds. Stoke is already a charming school; we think it can become a unique educational experience.
We hope that you will wish to join us in realising this wondrous vision.
