Overview
The preschool at St Swithunâs represents the best of both worlds. It benefits from its own dedicated, purpose-built indoor and outdoor spaces but also has access to the facilities of the prep school which include an on-site swimming complex with learner pool; a gym; performance hall; dining room; outdoor sports facilities and Forest School. The site is set in 45 acres of the Hampshire countryside with views over the Southdowns National Park.
The outdoor preschool courtyard is packed with equipment for young children to enjoy exploring, inventing and learning, including a sandpit, water play area and mud kitchen. Indoors its modern learning space is designed to facilitate teaching of the governmentâs Early Yearâs Foundation Stage Curriculum with additional emphasis on modern foreign languages, cooking, music and sport. Preschool children have swimming lessons every week.
St Swithunâs preschool is a place where a love of learning, literature and life is fostered and where children practise becoming confident communicators who demonstrate respect and kindness for others.
Girls and boys are accepted into preschool from the half-term following their third birthday.
