Every child is a unique child. We aim to build positive relationships with all children to enable them to be strong and independent. We acknowledge that within the setting children will learn and develop well when they are benefiting from enabling environments, and teaching and learning support from adults, who respond to individual interests to scaffold learning over time. We believe the safeguarding and welfare of all children is paramount and we ensure to endeavour to keep children safe from harm both in our setting and in their home.
Baby room has their own safe and secure outdoor area that leads off from the room. This area benefits from an undercover section which enables children to access the outdoors all year round. Staff understand the importance of being outside. It supports brain development in a number of ways including exposure to sunlight, expanding senses and supporting physical development.
Toddler 1 is set out into several smaller areas for children to explore. Practitioners use their knowledge of the children and child development to enhance the areas and plan exciting experiences to extend childrenâs learning.
Toddler 2 is a spacious environment that has several different areas for the children to explore freely. Practitioners use their knowledge of the children and child development to enhance the areas and plan an exciting play- based environment that will extend childrenâs learning. For example our home corner provides the opportunity to develop childrenâs communication and language skills using their own real life experiences. play
Our Pre-school room is led by an experienced early years team who use their knowledge of the children to create an engaging and well-planned environment. We also introduce more adult led initiated times using staff knowledge and following the childrenâs interests. This prepares them ready for the transition to Reception class, who we liaise closely with in the summer term.
