Banana Moon Day Nursery in Lower Sundon is a small, warm and friendly setting, nestled in the Bedfordshire countryside just North of Luton.
They are a very outdoorsy setting: each of their rooms has its own outdoor playspace, and they also have their own field on the setting premises! They have 3 rooms, one for each age group (Under 2s, Toddlers 2-3, and Preschool 3+). Each room is an airy space, with resources to stimulate learning appropriate for each child.
They have their own Forest School, and will be training more of the team to embed the Forest School ethos into the preschool's learning.
They pride themselves on their "invitations to play", inspired by their children's interests or by wider events, such as the Luton Carnival, Diwali, the Queen's birthday, or National Nursery Rhyme week. They follow In The Moment Planning, scaffolding the children's learning by following their interests and interacting in a supportive and cooperative way.
The team are all trained in Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, Paediatric First Aid and other areas, including Covid19 specific training currently.
Home-cooked meals are prepared on-site and provide the children with a nutritious and balanced diet required for healthy development.
