High-class academic education is delivered by dedicated, supportive staff. A wealth of opportunities, set in 90 acres of inspiring grounds, allows pupils to explore the full range of their talents, however, the most important thing that we give the children at Abberley is their childhood.
Small class sizes, high-quality classroom teaching and committed pastoral care ensure that at Abberley the teachers really know and understand the children as individuals. There is a strong culture of performance and participation encouraged right from the beginning. All our children get regular opportunities to perform in the sporting, theatrical, musical and public speaking arenas. Abberley enables children to build life-long friendships and prepares them for success in a global and changing world.
Ultimately, we provide each and every child with the best possible start in life. Abberley pupils enjoy a magical childhood and grow towards becoming likeable, confident and rounded individuals with a zest for life. We believe that childhood is precious and that children shouldnât grow up too soon. We promote a sense of awe and wonder in our pupils and we try to remember the advice of Roald Dahl,âwatch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.â
Above all else, we are a community with kindness, integrity and Christian values at the heart of all that we do. Character education is as important as preparation for exams and we aim to develop in each child a strong moral compass and values such as kindness, courage, collaboration, forgiveness and respect. Pupils, staff and parents belong to the Abberley Hall family.
We believe that success in the classroom isnât just about preparing children for exams but that we must also enable them develop creativity, independence, leadership and the ability to collaborate so that they are equipped to live happy and successful lives.
Provide a broad all-round education in the academic sphere; in a range of sports, in the creative arts, and with a firm social grounding. We aim for the pupils to leave our school with a sense of independence, self-belief and initiative. We believe that learning should be an exciting experience and we strive to be truly innovative whilst maintaining a strong academic ethos and offering support for those who need it.
Our belief is that every child should be treated as an individual, and we encourage pupils to develop an understanding of their particular strengths, while enjoying their childhood and developing firm friendships. We aim to teach pupils the benefits and pleasures derived from being part of a strong community with a shared set of values; namely â honesty, endeavouring to try oneâs hardest, mutual respect and support, and a commitment to the school community.
