Born in 2002, in the historic town of Topsham, Devon Emile et Rose offers timeless, traditional clothing and accessories for babies aged up to 23 months. Established by two cousins, Eve and Mike, Emile et Rose continues to flourish under the same family ownership.
As a young mother, Eve started by making clothes for her baby daughter Sarah. A local shop spotted her talent and persuaded her to fulfil an order for them. The business was started in her back bedroom, and grew until she took the plunge of opening a factory in Exmouth, Devon in 1972, at the age of just 20 years old.
All of the design and distribution of the Emile et Rose collections takes place at our studios in Devon, situated on a farm on the outskirts of Topsham. Farm life has lots of perks, including helping round up escaping sheep and lunchtime strolls through the fields. Although just a small team of 10 we have over 100 years of experience collectively and are very passionate about what we do.
We are very lucky to be based in one of the most beautiful towns in England, Topsham was voted best place to live in the South West by the Sunday Times. Being an estuary town means you will often see little hints of nautical themes throughout our collections.
