Autopress Education specialise in the design, manufacture and sourcing of excellent numeracy and literacy resources for primary schools. We are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year and are pleased to be bringing you the widest range of products that we have ever had.
We are known for keeping our designs clear and simple, bright and colourful. Our arrow cards, for example, are coloured to help children distinguish between the hundreds, tens and ones, and the place value charts and base ten equipment use the same colour scheme so that children can see the connection between them.
We pride ourselves on our attention to detail, in terms of product quality, pedagogical knowledge and classroom application. One of our directors has over twenty years experience in primary teaching and is a consultant in primary numeracy. The other director has a print and design background and has extensive experience in quality assurance. Together they are able to design and source products which are âjust rightâ as opposed to ânearly rightâ. You will find, for example, that our childrenâs digit cards are available in different colours so that children working at the same table can easily keep track of their own set. You will also notice that the fonts that we choose to use on all our products are those that reflect the way that children are taught to write numbers and letters.
We have an enviable reputation as national specialists in the provision of numeracy resources and we are proud of our association with Every Child Counts, the Maths Recovery Council UK and the Mata Sa Rang programme in Ireland. As well as manufacturing a wide range of printed resources, we are also pleased to bring you a carefully selected range of other products which have been chosen because they work particularly well alongside our own printed range, the beadbars and beadstrings for example, work well in tandem with our number line range. We have also managed to source several resources which are used very effectively in countries that have a reputation for excellence in mathematics teaching but are not available widely in the UK. The split-boxes and partitioning trees are examples of this.
Our literacy section includes the first in an exciting new range of illustrated resources. We have been delighted to work with childrenâs illustrator Ann Scott to produce these new resources for our literacy range and we are looking forward to introducing more products from this range in the coming year.
We exhibit at all the major education shows in the UK as well as attending as many regional conferences as possible. To see which events which are exhibiting at, please see our exhibitions page. We benefit greatly from the feedback and requests we get from teaching professionals at these events and this helps to inform future products. We are also fortunate enough to have gained the support of many independent maths consultants and teaching professionals and you will often find our resources being demonstrated and used in training courses across the country.
